At this time, I would like to just ask if we can all take a moment to say a prayer of thanks to Newport Float.
There are some services that are purely hype and then some that are a true blessing when you stumble across it. Newport Float is definitely a gift waiting to be opened under my class pass option.
I booked the early morning float at 7am on a Monday. Ron greeted me and had me read and sign a waiver and first-time procedures.
Then, he showed me the chamber cleaning process and we chatted a bit about the other floats and he gave me really good insights on which floats I should or shouldn’t consider.
I proceeded to the shower/isolation chamber and just floated. The experience was exhilarating. It is completely dark in the chamber. Let yourself just float (arms over your head for best experience) and release whatever you have going on the outside world. I am very, very restless, but I found myself in a zen state, in one posture for an hour and a half.
Here’s a couple of tips, although Newport Float has all the information you need to know as they are SUPER THOROUGH with their directions:
– be naked.
– for claustrophobic people (I am one), there’s light up ball you can bring with you in the chamber. But please don’t rely on it, experience the darkness as this will help you zone out
– use the ear plugs
– after using the chamber, shower, then lather up with lotion! Oh man, I’m about to go on amazon to buy their lotion because it is so bomb, it literally smells like Dunkin’ Donuts
I am definitely going to be adding this to my routine maybe once or twice a month. Ron, thank you so much for being so personable, approachable, and answering all my questions.
